We offer interpreting service and counseling on diagnosis and monitoring of patients with paraproteinemia (myeloma, Waldenström, MGUS, amyloidosis), including response evaluation of transplanted patients.

Using state of the art technology, we identify and quantitate M-spike proteins by capillary electrophoresis, immune-subtraction, and immune-fixation on serum and urine samples. We also quantitate free light chains in serum and urine, measure light –chain-specific immunoglobulin (“heavy-lite assay”), and further measure the total concentrations of IgG, IgA, IgM, and IgD as well as IgG-subclasses by ISO15189 accredited methods.

Our service follows the National Guideline for M-component analyses.

We have development and research projects within:

  • Minimal residual disease evaluation by Mass-spectrometry and PCR
  • Development of a liposomal-based drug for targeting tumor-associated macrophages in myeloma
  • Register-based study for the evaluation of the use of free light chain assays for the diagnosis of Bence Jones proteinuria in General Practice.
