The ulcer clinic has a longstanding interest in research involving compression therapy. Recently, focus has been on compression therapy in patients with arterial and mixed arte-rial and venous insufficiency. Future research in the ulcer clinic will further aim at clarifying the effect of compression on peripheral circulation in patients with decreased peripheral arterial blood supply and experiments are set up to measure toe pressure with settings involving different types of compression. In addition to experimental clinical research, the leg ulcer clinic is involved in gathering clinical experience with the use of new wound treatment dressings and new compression technologies.
