The neurological research programmes focus on several strategic areas spanning from basic research to epidemiological and different types of clinical interventions. The department has research programmes that include experimental laboratories in neuromuscular, somatosensory, gait and autonomic functions, matched with imaging and various types of neurophysiological techniques. Research facilities including SPECT, PET-imaging and magnetoencephalography (MEG) represent powerful techniques that allow us to get further insight into the underlying mechanisms of different types of neurological disorders. The research includes all the subspecialities present in the department and depend on collaboration with many other departments at AUH.
