In recent years, intensive research has been conducted on the cause and treatment of functional disorders. There are still many unresolved questions which we hope to be able to answer in our future research.

The Research Clinic for Functional Disorders and Psychosomatics was founded in the spring of 1999 in a collaboration between local authorities and Aarhus University Hospital. The department is part of the Head-Neuro Centre at Aarhus University Hospital and is affiliated to Aarhus University. The clinic is headed by Professor, MD, PhD, DMSc Per Fink. The clinical part is headed by chief physicians Nils Balle Christensen and Emma Rehfeld.

We participate in education and continuing education of medical students, fully-trained doctors, GPs, social workers, case workers and psychologists. We work towards extending our range of education activities to include nurses, physiotherapists and chiropractors.
