Aarhus University Hospital ranked as one of the best hospitals in the world
Newsweek ranks Aarhus University Hospital as 18th best hospital out of 2,400 Hospitals from 30 different countries
Aarhus University Hospital(AUH) is ranked alongside several other Danish hospitals on Newsweek’s annual list of the World’s Best Hospitals.
On the 2025 list AUH is ranked as the 18th best hospital in the world out of 2,400 Hospitals from 30 different countries.
The annual World's Best Hospitals ranking is compiled by Newsweek in collaboration with the data company Statista. It is based on available information about quality and patient satisfaction, as well as evaluations from a large number of healthcare professionals around the world.
A total of 2,400 hospitals from 30 countries are included on this year’s list, with AUH ranking 18th—up from 23rd place last year.
About the Newsweek’s 2025 list of the World’s Best Hospitals, AUH hospital director Thomas Balle Kristensen says:

8th best in Europe
The top three hospitals on the list are all from the USA and Canada: Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and Toronto General – University Health Network.
Among the best European hospitals, AUH holds eighth place, with Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Charité – Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, and University Hospital Zurich topping the European list.
