Distraction osteogenesis has gained widespread use for a range of growth deviations of the maxillofacial skeleton.
In our department we apply the treatment principle for patients with craniofacial syndromes (Crouzon, Apert, craniofacial microsomia), maxillary hypoplasia (mostly cleft lip and palate), mandibular micrognathia or asymmetry.

Our research projects focus on changes in the temporomandibular joint, complications related to the procedure, function and long-term stability.
