Aortic Calcification and Central Blood Pressure in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (ACCEPT-1) is a controlled trial involving a total of 200 patients (40 healthy patients and 160 patients with varying degrees of renal insufficiency) undergoing elective Coronary Arteriography.

The purpose of the study is to identify physiological or biochemical factors explaining and predicting a higher than expected central (aortic) blood pressure  in patients with chronic kidney disease, with the aim of improving blood pressure control in patients with renal faliure and thereby decrease morbidity and mortality in this patient group.
