Defence Command Denmark and Danish Emergency Management Agency has decided to bring home three healthcare workers from Sierra Leone, who has worked with Ebola patients. The three Danes have now been examined at Aarhus University Hospital and will not go into quarantine. 

Today, Defence Command Denmark has flown back to Denmark three Danish health care workers working with Ebola patients in Sierra Leone. The health care workers were stationed by Defence Command Denmark and Danish Emergency Management Agency. They have now been examined at Aarhus University Hospital. The health care workers were sent back to Danmark because they have been in contact with an American infected with Ebola. 

The three health care workers are feeling well and there is no reason to suspect that they should have been infected with Ebola. None of the three have been in direct contact with body fluids from the American patient. Therefore, there is only a minimal risk that they could be infected. 

The Danish Health and Medicines Authority have been in close contact with Department of Infectious Diseases at Aarhus University Hospital. Based on the risk assessment performed at the hospital, there is no reason to recommend quarantine. 

However, for a period of 21 days the three Danish health care workers are asked to pay close attention to any symtoms of Ebola, such as fever. In case of any symptoms, the three Danes will be examined immediately at a department of infectious diseases, either at Aarhus University Hospital or Hvidovre Hospital.
