Shanghai’s Deputy Mayor Mrs. Weng Tiehui and a Chinese delegation from Shanghai has visited Aarhus University Hospital.

Shanghai has 38 hospitals with a total number of 40,000 beds compared with the approximately 1,000 beds at Aarhus University Hospital.

The Deputy Chairman of Central Denmark Region, Anders Kühnau, and Cheif Executive Officer at Aarhus University Hospital, Gert Sørensen, gave presentations about the region and the hospital followed by a visit to the new hospital buildings.

The delegation was excited when introduced to the electric beds and single patient rooms in the new hospital facilities. 

At the end of the visit Steen Bønløkke and Søren Nielsen, professors at Department of Endocrinology and Internal Medicine, told the delegation about their diabetes research.
