Two talented young colorectal surgeons from China have won a two-week stay at Aarhus University Hospital
For the next two weeks, Department of Surgery at Aarhus University Hospital is visited by Dr. Zhang and Dr. Lin from China. They have won a competition by the Chinese Medical Association to be the most talented younger Chinese surgeon within laparascopic colorectal surgery. The prize was a two-week stay at Department of Surgery.
During their stay, the Chinese surgeons will attend different types of surgeries, participate in multidisciplinary conferences and see how future surgeons are trained in the simulation facilities, MidtSim, at Aarhus University Hospital
Standardised operations in Denmark
So far, the two Chinese doctors have attended three surgical procedures at Department of Surgery.
- We can see that your procedures are more standardised. You follow the same procedures every time. We should also do that in China, says Dr. Lin, who is a surgeon at The Affiliated Longyan First Hospital at Fujian Medical University, which is situated in the sourth-eastern Chinese province Fujian.
Professor Peter Christensen from Department of Surgery is the host for the two Chinese doctors.
- To be chosen as the host institution when the Chinese Medical Association could have chosen one of the large American or European centres, confirms the very positive reputation our department has internationally, says Peter Christensen.
