Aarhus University Hospital is among the world’s 25 best hospitals

The annual ranking of the best hospitals in the world by the American Newsweek magazine ranks Aarhus University Hospital (AUH) as number 24 among more than 2,300 hospitals.

Aarhus University Hospital remains the highest ranking hospital in Denmark and is the 10^th best hospital in Europe.

- The ranking shows that AUH is still in the absolute elite of hospitals worldwide. It is very important that we constantly compare with other hospitals, learn from the best and measure if our performance matches our expectations. It is very encouraging that the ranking clearly reflects our level of performance at AUH, says Poul Blaabjerg, CEO at AUH.

- In all corners of our hospital, our staff show that we belong to the elite of hospitals. The high level of staff skills and compentencies deserves appreciation and recognition and ensures that our patients are offered the best treatment. Naturally, we are very proud, Poul Blaabjerg continues.

The Newsweek ranking is made by researchers and experts in collaboration with the IT company Statista on the basis of accessible information on quality, patient satisfaction and assessments from a large number of health professionals from all over the world.

The Newsweek ranking of the World’s Best Hospitals started in 2019 and is still developing. More than 2,300 hospitals from 28 countries are part of the 2023-ranking.

The three top hospitals on the list are the Mayo Clinic Rochester, the Cleveland Clinic and Massachusetts General Hospital.

AUH is number 10 among European hospitals. The top-3 hospitals in Europe are Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset (Sweden), Charité Universitätsmedizin (Germany) and P-HP - Hôpital Universitaire Pitié Salpêtrière (France).
