To accept a request for stem cell or lymphocyte donation, DSCDW requires that all four of the following are met:

• Minimum HLA matching between donor’s and patient’s HLA types for stem cell donation
  
  Identity on A, B, C, and DRB1 loci by means of a high resolution (HR) genomic typing technique (allelic match; 8/8 match), or one allele or antigen mismatch on one of the four mentioned loci (7/8 match). Ii deviation from this, documentation for the matching should be asked for from the requesting centre, and the request has to be reviewed by DBMDR for approval or denial of request.

• Diagnosis and disease status of the patient to approve stem cell or subsequent lymphocyte donation
  
  Diagnosis and disease status should be given by the requesting center. The diagnosis should be in accordance with the recent EBMT list of indications as published in international journals or equivalent lists published by a comparable organisations in America, Australia, or Asia and the disease stage should indicate whether the patient is eligible for transplantation or eligible for lymphocyte infusion. If deviation, DSCDW has to review the request for approvalor denial.

• Use of donor for research
  
  If the treatment of the patient is part of a research protocol, the following must be submitted with the workup request:  research protocol, informed consent from the patient and informed consent for the donor to sign. The information to donor must be submitted as well and preferably in Danish, but English will also be accepted.  Donor will receive oral information of the project based on the submitted written information. The use of donor for research will only be accepted if the donation can be performed in accordance to routine procedures and no risk for the donor.
  

• Credentials of the center requesting stem cell or subsequent lymphocyte donation
  
  A valid request must come either from a Donor Registry listed in Bone Marrow Donors Worldwide
  (BMDW) and/or a donor registry being a member of World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA); or directly from a transplant center which is a member of the European Bone Marrow Transplant Group (EBMT), American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT), or similar; or from a transplant center accredited by the Joint Accreditation Committee ISCT-EBMT (JACIE), Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), or similar; or a donor registry or a transplant center which has been approved by the Danish Health Authority.
