The Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy performs examinations, diagnostic procedures, assessments, treatment and rehabilitation within physiotherapy and occupational therapy for both in- and out-patients at Aarhus University Hospital across all specialities of the hospital. The department contributes to the interdisciplinary rehabilitation efforts for the patients at Aarhus University Hospital. 

The Department consists of 195 employees (including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, secretaries, managers, development and research staff).

Annually, we assess, examine and treat 24,250 patients and make 10,780 referrals for rehabilitation after hospitalization .

The department has a strong collaboration with other hospitals and the municipalities in the Central Denmark Region regarding patient pathways, professional development and research.  The department has a research and development unit conducting research within many aspects of physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
