The Department of Renal Medicine focuses on research, education and highly specialised patient care. We have dedicated staff who work closely together with other specialities locally, nationally and internationally.

The department offers all kinds of renal care including renal transplantation, workups for simultaneous kidney-pancreas transplantation, prevention of progression in vasculitis and other renal diseases, and care for patients with hypertension including renovascular and severe hypertension suitable for invasive treatment.

The department has units for haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis as well as satellite dialysis units at two hospitals in the Central Denmark Region. A team ensures home-assisted peritoneal dialysis, and honehaemodialysis. Moreover, the department offers guest dialysis services for patients staying temporarily in Denmark.
