The annual PhD day at the faculty of Health took place on Friday January 19. For DCPT researchers, it was a very special day this year.

PhD student Mathis Rasmussen was a finalist in the Fogh-Nielsen prize competition, where three PhD students compete on their research and communication of their projects – and not least the honour. Mathis Rasmussen came in second after a great performance and won a prize of DKK 25.000. DCPT professor Stine Korreman was awarded the JCD Prize for the extraordinary PhD Supervisor. The prize honours especially inspiring and committed supervisors, and the nomination comes from the PhD students in Stine Korreman’s group. After the nomination, an assessment committee consisting of representatives from the PhD day Organizing Committee (PhD student), the PhD Association, Health (PhD student), and the Head of Graduate School of Health selected the winner.

The JCD Prize and Stine was introduced with these words by PhD student, Emma Skarsø Buhl, on behalf of the group:

‘It is a great honour, that all of us today are presenting this year’s winner of the JDC prize, our supervisor. We decided to nominate our supervisor, not only because her competencies in the field, but mainly because of the way she leads our group.

She has created a safe and fun workplace with a diverse group and meets every one of us, where we need her to. She helps us with everything from keeping our focus, when the ideas are emerging a bit too fast, to navigate the politics, when we are collaborating on local, national and international scale.

The winner of this year’s JCD price – Stine Korreman.'

In addition to the honour, the JCD Prize consists of DKK 25.000.

Congratulations!
