Purpose: An investigator-driven, multicentre, prospective, randomised, single blinded with blinded end-point trial of perconditioning treatment during ambulance transport to hospital in patients with suspected acute stroke. Perconditioning is a promising method with no known adverse effects. It has shown neuroprotective effects and may save ischemic brain tissue from infarction. The aim is to include 2300 patients in collaboration with the prehospital services.
