PI: Dorte Damgaard MD, PhD, Department of Neurology Aarhus University Hospital, Jens Erik Nielsen-Kudsk Department of Cardiology, Aarhus University Hospital.

Purpose: The use of anticoagulation in patients experiencing intracerebral hemorrhage has been controversial. Treatment decision has been left to the discretion of the treating physisian, and in some cases anre considdered contraindicated? when the underlying stroke type is cerebral amyloid angiopathy. LAAO is a non-pharmacological treatment with potential benefits for this patient group, but evidence is lacking. The trial will include patients from all Nordic countries and the aim is to include 750 patients.

Study period: 01.09.2017 - ongoing
Funding: Unrestricted grant from St. Jude Company.
