Within the group of researchers in musculoskeletal complications there has been a focus on identifying risk factors for shoulder problems such as rotator cuff syndromes. Furthermore, there has been focus on work-related problems including rehabilitation for patients with low back pain in order to return to work. There has been major focus on occupational prognosis for most of our patient groups. In recent years we have focused on secondary prevention of low back pain in order to allow patients continuing participation in the work force, since primary prevention initiatives targeting low back pain have not been effective. Approximately 50% of our patients have muscular skeletal diseases and this is still a major reason leaving the workforce.
