The available PhD position is a part of a project funded by the Danish Cancer Society, and starts a new line of research at DCPT, spatially fractionated proton therapy (SFRT).

The position is under the supervision of Professor Niels Bassler. The overall project objective is to assess the biological potential of SFRT using a therapeutic proton beam at DCPT, with the purpose of translating it to the clinic. Main focus of this position will be the initial beamline development and dosimetric validation, and afterwards the biological characterization in close collaboration with our radiation biology team. Main tasks will include design, theoretical calculation and simulation, and experimental verification of relevant SFRT beam configurations. The candidate will work in a highly interdisciplinary team with physicists, medical physicists, radiation biologists and medical doctors.

Application deadline: 31 October.
