Co-supervisors professor and dean David Hess, department of Neurology Medical College of Georgia, Georgia, USA and PhD student Rolf B Ankerfeldt department of Neurology Aarhus University Hospital.
Purpose: Rheo-erythrocrine dysfunction of the red blood cells is a novel biomarker in both ischemic stroke in general and the effect of remote ischemic conditioning. The study will investigate red blood cells deformability and erythrocyte nitric oxide synthase 3 (ENOS3) content and the association to RIC and clinical outcome in ischemic stroke patients.
Study period: 01 Jan 2020 – 31. Dec 2020.
