The Department of Neurology at Aarhus University performs cutting edge treatment and research in cerebrovascular diseases, neuromuscular and movement disorders as well as in neuropathic pain. It also contributes significantly in other areas such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and dementia. The treatments include several advanced immune modulating treatments, vascular interventions as well as stimulation techniques. 

The department is very research active within most areas of clinical neurology and clinical neurophysiology with several publications in high-impact journals. The department participates in several international consortia such as the EU-IMI consortium. 

The Department of Neurology has extensive collaboration with international research and clinical groups including some of the major university departments in Europe and the United States.
