Aarhus University Hospital is internationally acclaimed for its highly specialised clinical neurophysiological diagnostic services and comprehensive research and clinical development activities.

The clinical neurophysiological department is particularly renowned for the development and use of quantitative electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS) with near-nerve needle technique in the examination of patients with neuromuscular disorders. In addition, state-of-the-art facilities are used for the diagnosis of patients with disorders of the central nervous system, including epilepsy and sleep disorders.

Research is strongly integrated in our clinical practice, focusing on improving the diagnosis of patients with diseases of the muscles, and of the central and peripheral nerve systems as well as obtaining new pathophysiological knowledge.
