Clinical Sports Traumatology

The clinical sports traumatology research group is working with clinical studies in anterior cruciate ligament, collateral ligament and patellar instability surgery. Projects involve advanced movement analysis and biomechanical studies of ligament reconstructions.

There is an established collaboration with Steadman Philippon Research Center in Vail, Colorado, on robot-based biomechanical analysis and clinical studies of ligament reconstructions. 3D movement analysis conducted in collaboration with the Department. of Sports Science, Institute of Public Health, Aarhus University.

Moreover, work with epidemiological studies of treatment outcomes after anterior cruciate ligament surgery from Danish national clinical database for ligament reconstructions in the knee joint. The ACL registry was established by the research group in 2005. Scandinavian cohort studies are conducted in collaboration with Ulleval University Hospital, Oslo, Trondheim University Hospital and Artroklinikken in Stockholm.
