FLASH is an exciting new radiotherapy modality with great clinical potential. Apply for this fully funded PhD project on the biological effects of proton FLASH and take part in a dynamic experimental research environment.

The research project for the position falls within the topic of radiobiology for proton therapy, and will be supervised by Professors Brita Singers Sørensen and Per Poulsen.

The project is funded by Independent Research Fund Denmark, and concerns investigations of the differential biological effects of FLASH irradiation compared to conventional proton radiation. The difference in biologic effect will be analysed in in vivo models with emphasis on models of normal tissue effects.

The projects is based at the Danish Centre for Particle Therapy with a major part of the experimental work to be carried out at the Department of Experimental Clinical Oncology, Aarhus University Hospital. The project aims to contribute to knowledge that can translate to patients to be treated with proton therapy at DCPT.

Application deadline: 15 October.
